Russia’s Defence Ministry said its forces struck Ukrainian industrial facilities, including the Zaporizhstal steel plant in Zaporizhzhia, an Interpipe Steel complex in Dnipro and several plants in Kryvyi Rih. The ministry also said two cargo vessels were hit overnight at the Black Sea port of Chornomorsk.
The claims followed reported Ukrainian drone attacks on industrial facilities in Russia’s Samara region. Russian officials said residential buildings were damaged, one person was injured in Togliatti and four commercial properties caught fire in Taganrog.
What Russia says it struck
The Defence Ministry said Russian forces hit several facilities as Moscow continues what it described as a campaign against Ukraine’s industrial infrastructure. The reported locations include Zaporizhstal in southeastern Ukraine, the Interpipe Steel complex in Dnipro and plants in Kryvyi Rih, the hometown of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
The ministry also said Russian forces downed 230 Ukrainian drones overnight over more than a dozen Russian regions, as well as over Crimea and the Azov and Black seas. The claims were reported alongside accounts from regional officials of damage and casualties from Ukrainian attacks. Casualties reported in wider attacks
In Kyiv, at least two people were killed in Russian strikes on two petrol stations on Friday, while Mayor Vitali Klitschko said 12 people, including a 12-year-old boy, were injured. Ukrainian regional officials also reported three deaths in attacks in Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia and Kharkiv, and one death in the Kyiv region.
Russian officials said Ukrainian attacks killed one person in the Kursk region, one in Belgorod and two employees of a gas company in Russian-controlled parts of the Donetsk region. Authorities in Volgograd said a Ukrainian missile attack injured two people, hit two residential buildings and damaged an industrial facility.
